Greys Fin Fly Reels

The Greys FIN fly reels are the first reels in the entirely new Greys fly reel family.

A beautiful performance reel in a never before seen Di-cast construction. The FIN is constructed from durable injection molded aluminum that undergoes two further machining processes to perfect and polish it to a stunning multi-color finish. The reels are fitted with a full rulon disc brake system that provides a sturdy, smooth and easily reversible drag.

The half enclosed frame fully encloses the line from the bottom of the reel to prevent line escape and the reel has a large arbor spool for rapid and even retrieve and to minimise any problems with line memory.

The Greys FIN reels set a new standard in performance fly reels at an affordable price.
It comes with a superior Greys reel pouch.

Our opinion:

These reels have grown on me since they first came out. I was initially a bit sceptical about the industrial design but I have to admit I like the half enclosed frame that keeps the line secure, the detailing on the spool cut aways is beautifully done, the matt black finish is silky smooth, the little touches of red really stand out and you get a proper disc drag with a screw down spool, an easily reversible drag and the drag release has three pin contacts to the spool rather than just a single pin on some reels that has to be good for reliability.

A spin of the reel shows very good manufacturing tolerances so your line is unlikely to get trapped in the gaps.

All in all, I think these are really a superior quality die cast reel worthy of the Greys name and very good value for money.
