Shakespeare Cedar Canyon Click Fly Reel

For those that love the simplicity and sound of a click check reel, the Cedar Canyon Click is a great choice. Made from impact resistant graphite, the modern styled frame is both lightweight and durable. The Cedar Canyon Click is perfect for new and experienced anglers alike.

DETAILS

The Shakespeare Cedar Canyon Click fly reel comes in a choice of two sizes:

A 3.75" diameter reel for AFTM 5 - 6 fly lines (plus backing line)
A 4.00" diameter reel for AFTM 7 - 8 fly lines (plus backing line)

#5-6 Weight: 150g
#7-8 Weight: 162g

Both versions are about 1.5" wide and have an adjustable click drag which can be easily changed over for left or right hand winding.

CONSTRUCTION

These fly reels have a strong but lightweight composite reel body and spool with an enclosed frame design for extra strength. The closed cage design lets the line run freely and prevents it getting trapped while the click drag system is enough to prevent line overrun from the spool.

OUR OPINION

These Cedar Canyon Click fly reels are good looking and great value for money. They have a smooth textured finish and the spool cutaways have an attractive modern design. The nicely milled screw down spool fixing gives a more reliable connection than the old lever or push button designs and is a good sign of how Shakespeare continues to improve it's products.

The reels have a nice finish to them and the manufacturing tolerances look pretty good with no large variances and nice even gaps that are unlikely to catch and damage your fly line.

If you want a low cost large arbor fly reel then these are a great choice but also consider the Cedar Canyon Disc fly reels that come with refined disc drag system. For pure value for money though these Cedar Canyon Click fly reels are nice and cheap and unbeatable for the price.
