These spinning reels have a front drag adjustment of this reel which is generally preferred for spinning reels due to the simpler and more robust design of the drag mechanism where the braking force is applied directly by the drag adjustment. It's a simpler drag mechanism, more direct and more reliable.

Shakespeare tend to use the two different reel size formats interchangably depending on the products. So while the Beta and Salt reels use the 20, 30, 40, 50 sizing formats, the Mach reels use the 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, formats. The two mean the same thing, just one uses an extra two zeros at the end.
