Sinking Weight Forward Fly Lines

Product Description

These mill end fly lines come to us fresh from the factory and are amazing value for money.

The lines come in both Weight Forward (WF) and Double Taper (DT) profiles and in floating, intermediate and sinking densities.

DETAILS

These mill end fly lines are slightly shorter than full length being 27.3 yards rather than the full 30 yards. They're still longer than most of us can, or indeed need to, cast and we don't think you'll find a better line anywhere for the same money.

The floating lines float nice and high in the water.

The intermediate lines sink slowly, usually at about 1ips (inch per second).

The sinking lines are mid sinkers, typically Type 3 (DI3 or 3ips sink rate).

COLOURS

The colours vary but are fairly consistent for the different types of line.

The floating lines tend to be light in colour and will typically be white, light green, yellow or peach in colour (or even somewhere in between).

The intermediate lines are a medium colour, usually grey or grey-green and the sinking lines will be a dark colour, typically dark brown, dark green or black.

OUR OPINION

We usually recommend buying a good quality floating line for fly fishing as that's the one area where performance is most important.

Having tried these lines ourselves, we found them to be much better than expected. They're not as supple as a Cortland 444 and won't cast as far as a Cortland 444SL but at the end of the day it all depends on what kind of budget you have and at this price you won't go far wrong.

These mill end fly lines are slight seconds but are a great way to add an extra line to your collection at very low cost or even to buy a line to practice your fly casting.

Caught two nice pike on my first day out with the sinking line, looking forward to getting better at casting to land the big mama with this line.

It would be better if you included a sink rate.

Excellent buy at a reasonable price and I have no hesitation in recommending it as I know it will do the job I purchased it for when the time comes to use it.

Seems good although have not fished with it yet, but appears good quality. May well turn out to be excellent once I have used it, will have to wait and see.
