The revamped Cortland 444 Classic series of fly fishing lines are superb high quality lines that perfectly match today's carbon-fiber fly rods for sheer fishing pleasure.

DETAILS

The glass-like finish on these fly lines is super smooth and self lubricating for extra distance while the special suppleness helps accuracy and gives the most delicate presentation.

The Cortland 444 Floating Peach line has the distinction of being voted 'Fly Line of The Century' by EMAP, publishers of Trout Fisherman and Trout & Salmon magazines.

These lines are available in a wide range of styles to suit every need. See the descriptions against each line below for details.

The new XP profile versions have a longer head and backing for improved long distance casting on stillwaters. The long 15 yard / 14 m head (versus 11 yard / 10 m on the classic line) makes it easier for distance casters to reach fish they wouldn't have done before.

- Special tapers are used to assist in tight loop control and pinpoint casting accuracy. You maintain maximum control of every cast.
- 444 classic's special formulation contains unique properties to make it float extremely high on water surfaces. Line pick up becomes effortless with less chance of spooking fish.

OUR OPINION

The Cortland 444 classic fly lines are a tried and tested line that is probably used by more serious anglers than any other.

With a 444 classic you're not paying for the latest gimmick or flavour of the month but are buying a true workhorse of a line that has been proven over the years to be a favourite of many fly anglers. These lines aren't cheap, but they are a pleasure to cast with and more than make up for it with their durability.

The 444 classic fly line has been our line of choice for many years.
