OUR OPINION

This backing line is good and cheap but being twisted rather than braided means that any time the backing is free from the reel, such as for long casts or when playing a fish, there's a chance some of the twist could be transferred to the fly line which isn't ideal.

Fine if you never cast very far or catch fish likely to take you down to the backing. Otherwise it might be better to consider a braided backing such as our prostream braided backing line.
