Fly Reel

Product Description

A nice lightweight salmon fly reel made from Masterline Walker. The Rovex Radion Salmon Fly Reel is made from die-cast Aluminium and has a good strong drag system that is easily adjusted and more than capable of keeping a salmon under control.

An excellent value Salmon Fly Reel.

DETAILS

The Rovex Rafion Fly Reels are good solid, die cast salmon reels with a cut away arbor design that saves weight and lets the air circulate so the backing can dry out and not go mouldy.

The Radion Fly Reels look good with some nice design touches and have a powerful centre disc drag system with a softgrip adjustment. They feel good in the hand and the drag adjustment is large and easy to set which is just what you need to give you confidence when playing a large fish.

CONSTRUCTION

The reels are well made from a lightweight, die cast aluminium alloy.

OUR OPINION

The Rovex Radion Fly Reels look good with some nice design touches and have a powerful centre disc drag system with a softgrip adjustment. The all metal construction looks good, feels good and sounds good when compared with the composite reels.

The Rovex Radion reel has a good strong drag systems that's more convenient to set and more powerful than the offset systems found on cheaper reels. That alone is probably worth the extra money.

All metal reels do tend to weigh more than their composite counterparts and this reel is no exception. Metal is denser and will generally weigh more when compared strength for strength. Unless you're setting out with a short, light rod this will often work to your advantage as it will better balance the rod.

Being a die cast reel it won't be as strong as one machined from aluminium bar stock. But those are typically 2-3x more expensive and as long as you don't tend to drop your reel on concrete reservoirs you're unlikely to have any problems.

In conclusion. A nice metal fly reel that looks good, feels good and will perform well. Has an excellent disc drag system and is really a pretty good salmon reel all round for the money.
